A review of the Scence range

Another year came and went… some cool new products emerged… and there’s lot’s more to come in 2023!

As we reflect on another year at Scence and the various challenges and curveballs that came our way, we want to thank you for your loyalty and supporting us through some interesting times. Whilst it has been tough for a lot of small independent businesses we ‘small ones’ have a great advantage in being able to adapt quickly and be responsive and resilient in the face of such an unpredictable environment. The economy, the war, energy prices, the cost of living, European partners and ongoing pandemic effects have posed challenges we never imagined we would have to face. Yet we are still here thanks to you!

You may have noticed that our push through 2022 has been in new product development and we introduced several new members to our family of natural skincare.

In case you missed that we thought we would bring you a little reminder and a round up of what we got up to.

We started with some groovy new stevia infused lip balms with organic natural fruit and flavour oils. We went a bit mad and created twelve new flavours from Apple Sour to Fruit Cake and these have been a fab favourite with our younger Scence lovers.

Then we made an amazing SPF30 sunscreen and lip zinc stick ready for the blazing summer we enjoyed. This is made with a zinc suspension to ensure even coverage and excellent safe protection. All in our plastic free, home compostable packaging of course!

We listened to what you wanted (as we always do!) and added some new deodorant blends as requested. Citrus Paradisi is a lovely zingy grapefruit freshener to compete with our award-winning Sweet Citrus, Spring Blossom is a new light floral to give our bestseller Perfect Rose a healthy challenge and Lavender Mint is a bright and breezy breath of fresh air!

You also asked for a Foot Balm and this emerged with a lovely refreshing blend of Peppermint and Petitgrain. Moisturising and deodorising, a soothing balm for tired toes and heels.

And then, we went and made some solid perfume balms in five different blends from sweet Air to zingy Zest. Perfectly pocket sized for holidays and travel.

Autumn came and this was a great time to launch our natural essential oil candles  after a long research period. We wanted to find the most sustainable wax – an alternative to soy wax – and this led us to Eco coconut wax; the most sustainable wax available. We love it and it blends beautifully with our chosen aroma blends and has a fantastic scent throw and long burn.
